How often does electrical wiring need to be checked for safety?

Electrical wiring should be checked whenever you notice warning signs or when you make major changes to your home, not on a fixed calendar. The most common problems begin at panels and connection points where heat and loose terminations develop over time. Most hidden hazards show up at terminations, not along the cable run. We routinely perform these safety checks for homeowners in the Coconut Creek area. If desired, ECM includes a free in-home electrical inspection with a quote.

Schedule an inspection if you see any of the following:

  • Lights dim or flicker when equipment starts.
  • Breakers trip often or the panel feels warm or smells burnt.
  • Aluminum conductors look loose or show corrosion.
  • A/C breakers or exterior disconnects appear undersized, damaged, or out of code.

Turn off any suspect circuit and avoid using affected equipment until it’s checked.
